Bullfinches in a Lettuce

This painting combines two of my favourite subjects, birds and vegetables. I like to stretch my imagination, so I thought the lettuce would make an unusual nest, but a similar shape. The colours reflect warmth and sunshine, and nature turning from spring into summer.
