I have always loved painting teapots. I have almost never thought of them with tea, but rather, full of flowers or fruit or something decorative.
This painting is called “Teatime”. The teapot, the cress and the strawberry are symbols of a ritual on a perfect English summer’s day.
Recently afternoon tea has become very popular again, from our Cheshire kitchen to the London Ritz!
My painting has two empty chairs and a garden behind. It seems to say, imagine who you would choose to share this idyllic ritual with?
