The Kitchen Colander – Acrylic Painting

This painting was both exciting and a challenge.

I am always interested in putting every day objects together and making a composition with style and beauty!

I like one strong background colour and in this case, everything else either black and white or shaded. I found painting in shades of black and white, or occasionally jet black and pure white, made me question each object. In the end, it had to work as one idea, which I feel it does.

The Colander is part of my series of art for the kitchen. After all, we seem to spend much of our time there doing a multitude of different tasks!
