The Candlelit Urn – Acrylic Painting on Paper

Like so many of my paintings, they start one way and end another, usually to do with the colours.

I wanted to paint winter, snow and cold. The candle idea is new and more successful against the dark blue, as if it were night time. The original urn was multi-coloured, but happily I found this green that transformed the entire picture.

The warm red of the Bullfinches and Robins was the perfect combination of colour as instinctively, it is bound to conjure up Christmas in the snow.

Painting Size: 33cm x 30.5cm

Supplied with a double cream mount, but unframed so you have the freedom to choose a frame to match your own home decor.
