Cat in Basket with Herbs and Wild Flowers – Acrylic Painting on Paper

This is a very special cat, it looks just like ours called Skippy.

The face and the pose made me want to paint it. It nestles and feels hidden and protected with the wild flowers and herbs in the basket.

The basket in real life is a plain wicker brown. Here I couldn’t resist carrying the bright colours through to the base, giving the composition continuity and colour from top to bottom.
